On this blog page we offer weekly reflections to prompt writing to pray. These reflections are not intended to nourish you in and of themselves; you will be enriched through your own written responses to the questions presented.
We traditionally think of writing as an avenue to express the thoughts and feelings we possess; we generally believe that the thoughts and feelings come first, even if often vague, and that writing solidifies them. However, if you are writing to pray, and surrendering in faith to the process, the words you write will expose new insights and emotions that you hithertofore did not have. In the context of writing to reflect on the readings, you will make new and startling connections between your life, thoughts, feelings, experiences and those of both Old and New Testament characters.
We intend on posting reflection questions every Monday or Tuesday for the upcoming Sunday’s mass readings. We encourage any responses that you would like to make as it enhances the prayer experience of everyone. We hope that this coffee cup remains topped off, and communal in nature.
